Working for you in Vancouver-Hastings
Born and raised in East Vancouver, Shane has worked for decades to make people’s lives better as the coordinator and fundraiser for the Ray-Cam Cooperative Centre, an executive assistant to former MP Margaret Mitchell, and for the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
He has worked to improve neighbourhoods as the chair of the Vancouver City Planning Commission, a director for Smart Growth BC and an SFU Community Economic Development program instructor. He has consulted on business and economic development for labour, co-operatives and non-profits.
Elected three times as an MLA, Shane works hard to help people, their families and the Vancouver-Hastings community. He is the BC NDP’s Spokesperson for Economic Development, Jobs, Labour and Skills.
Shane has seen how Christy Clark’s choices are hurting our community. She ignored skyrocketing housing costs. She gave her rich friends tax breaks, but raised MSP fees, Hydro and ICBC rates for everyone else. Government should make life better for people – not harder.
That’s why Shane is standing with John Horgan. He knows we can make life more affordable by investing in housing, improving transit and implementing $10 a day childcare. He’s proud of John’s plan for fair wages, more support for our kids’ schools and better care for seniors.
You can count on Shane and John Horgan to work for you.
